Hook, Line & Sinker
I can’t explain, but I’ll find a song that can
Hannah has made a bold career decision. She wants to take her music skills to the next level and asks her boss, Sergie, whom she’s had a crush on for a long time, to let her be part of the music track creation for their new project. To her surprise, she finds herself in a charming port town with her entire crew. But what’s even more interesting is that she ends up staying in the spare room of the house belonging to the local heartthrob, Fox, even though her sister lives nearby in Westport. Why did this situation unfold like this? And can Hannah stay focused on her dream job while being constantly distracted by the attractive and shirtless Fox, who always smells like ginger lotion?
[Note: The story behind the ginger lotion is a unique twist that only the readers will discover.]
OVERVIEW
Hannah is a person who loves music, and her life revolves around it. Last summer, when she visited Westport with her sister, she met a king crab fisherman named Fox and discovered her biological father’s roots while living with her grandma. She fell in love with the peacefulness of Westport and misses it now that she’s back in L.A. When an opportunity arises to film a period piece in Westport, Hannah tells Sergei, her longtime crush and a movie producer, about the town’s beauty. Sergei agrees to shoot the movie there, and Hannah decides to move back to Westport. She also gathers the courage to ask Sergei if she can be involved in finalizing the music for the film and everything seems to be on track.
But now that she is in Westport, Hannah is supposed to stay with Fox, who is also known as the local heartthrob apart from being the awesome fisherman. Although, they have been texting each other constantly for the past seven months, and she had told him about her crush on Sergei, Hannah doesn’t feel the excited butterflies she should when Sergei was giving her attention more than required. Instead, she gets that fluttery feeling in her stomach when she’s around Fox.
Fox has made it clear that he’s not interested in anything serious, but is Hannah the only one experiencing these strange physical reactions? Will Fox be able to change his carefree and irresponsible attitude and allow Hannah to love him for who he truly is? Can Hannah see him differently and not be forced to see the bad person he claims to be?
PERSONAL THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK
The book tells a captivating love story, but what caught my attention the most was the sad situation of a boy who was shaped by his father since childhood. Because his father was spoiled and a bad influence, people assumed the boy was the same. This caused all his good efforts to go unnoticed. He desperately wanted to prove he was different from his father, who had many relationships with women. Unfortunately, society didn’t see his true character, which made him lose his confidence and start behaving like his father. However, when Hannah came into Fox’s life, she gave him hope that he could change. She made him believe he could become someone deserving of love and importance. This, to me, is the most important part and lesson of the entire story.
